There are many systems on this site that have spectacular growth only to wipe out in a spectacular fashion.... even after several years of growth. Were there warning signs? Yes. And, I'm happy to say, B1Global does not show those warning signs.

According to Martin Pring, the two most important numbers that describe any trader or mechanical system is NOT their win:loss ratio. It's NOT their CAGR. It's not their Sharpe ratio. It is their Maximum DD and their Max Adverse Excursion.

These two numbers describe how much money a trader is willing to risk to make his profit. In a roundabout way, it also describes how precise a trader's entries are... A good trader shouldn't need a 1,000 pip stop loss just so he can make 100 pips.

B1 has a max DD of 12% at this point, which is pretty stable for such a long track record. More importantly, closed trades are not showing an unusual amount of risk. I'm keeping my eye on this one.

one recent win risked 20% of system equity to make about 3%!!!! I highly advise scaling this system down for your account, as this strategy has more in common with gambling than professional trading.

For instance, if you have an account size of $250k (like their account size) consider scaling it down by a factor of 10. The most recent drawdown would have not threatened your account as severely.

Two best trades are outliers... If you take away these trades, this is an average system.

However! These trades (together) had a combined drawdown of $5k+. At the time that represented more than 30% of all system capital.

Outlandish risks like this will only result in losses that are just as quick as the profits made in early September.
