Reason for attention required status:Asset requires base symbol.
What it Trader68 trying to tell me?

Here is more information from T68 messages.

Reason for Attention Required status: My IB Account #2: DECK: Asset requires base symbol for signal generator.

My IB Account #2: L E T F Portfolio: DECK: Order to Sell 10 at Market (Enter Short from Collective2 #73144087): Order pending correct trading settings for DECK.

My IB Account #2: L E T F Portfolio: DECK: Generated Order to Sell 10 at Market (Enter Short from Collective2 #73144087)

My IB Account #2: L E T F Portfolio: DECK: Order received before valid trading settings obtained: Enter Short 10 DECK at Market posted 4/30/2012 9:31:39 AM (Sig. Gen Time) from L E T F Collective2 order ID #73144087 (original scaled quantity). Order will remain pending until resolved. Asset requires base symbol for signal generator.

My IB Account #2: L E T F Portfolio: Position found in L E T F for DECK. Will add tracking asset after 60 seconds if no signals received.

Note: Someone else was autotrading this system with T68 and their trades were placed according to the trade history. What settings do I need to change?

Hello Roger,

I apologize that you are experiencing difficulties with Trader68. I just tried that symbol through Collective2 and it came in just fine to Trader68. Are you running the latest version 3.1.4?

With regards to the Base Symbol you can right-click on the DECK asset and choose Edit Asset Settings. On that first panel at the top left it should have DECK in the Broker Symbol box. If not, simply type in DECK in that field and press Save. Also make sure that the Asset Type is set to Stock.

Please let me know if this resolves your problem.

Thanks,
Trader68 Support

Yes, I am using version3.1.4 and not only was this a problem with DECK but also with VZ. I am not home when the market is open and signals are sent from C2. I do not know in advance what assets the system will trade so will not be able to manually choose Edit Asset Settings. The idea of subscribing to T68 is to auto trade. Any ideas on how to prevent this in the future?

Several months ago I had the same problem and you asked if I was running the new beta version. At that time I was not so I upgraded to the beta version which is now the current version 3.1.4.

The fact that you tried the symbol through C2 without problems provides me with little satisfaction or consolation. It seems that a problem still exists somewhere. It might be on my end or someplace else. I would just like to find it.

Hello Roger,

I apologize as I was not trying to offer satisfaction or consolation by stating that it worked for me, but rather that I am unable to replicate the problem internally nor have we had any other users report issues with stocks not being able to be automatically traded which leads us to believe it is a unique problem you are experiencing.

I spoke with the lead developer this morning and to help track down this problem quickly we'd like to request your Trader68 database. You can locate the database in one of two locations (depending on your operating system):

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Local Settings\Application Data\NeuroDimension\Trader68

Windows Vista/7:
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\NeuroDimension\Trader68

The file you will want to Zip up is the RTCore.mdb file. Simply right-click on it and choose Send to and then select Compressed Zip File. Next, email that file to support@trader68.com and we will investigate as to why this is happening to you.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this maybe causing as Trader68 is obviously suppose to be able to automatically handle these trades.

Thanks,
Trader68 Support

My T68 subscription was up so I downloaded T68 to my own server space that I have available through work. I registered under a different email address in order to take advantage of the 15 day free trial to see if this new configuration will work. I want to stay with T68 due to some features available that TradeBullet does not have. However, I have experienced no problems with TB in the past. The new setup is running IB's TWS and T68 on a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. Do you have any idea if this will fly? All programs downloaded well and seem to be working ok. I am just waiting for market opening to see if all goes well.

I am having problems with T68 automatically starting to auto trade accounts that have auto trading enabled. Maybe I am just setting the accounts up wrong. Any ideas?

Hello Roger,

While we do not officially support Windows 2008 Server (yet) we have been actively testing on this environment for the past 6+ months and have not experienced any issues with it.

With regards to your above question what is Trader68 having a hard time "starting"? Interactive Brokers? Actual autotrading with Collective2?

On a side note, we never received your database for the original issue of the stocks not being automatically handled in Trader68.

Thanks,
Trader68 Support

On my home computer when I opened T68, it would automatically log into my IB account and would actually initiate autotrading. Now, T68 loads itself and then opens my IB account like it did on the home computer, but now I physically have to move my cursor and click the start all autotrading button to make autotrading active. I was just wondering what is configured differently?
I also have sent you the RTCore file.
Thanks for your support.

Have you tried http://RoboticTradingSystems.com

it is best software for automated trading.
http://RoboticTradingSystems.com

No, I have not tried it. Will it place trade signals from C2 subscriptions to IB's TWS?

Hello Roger,

Nothing should be any different. If you setup up this instance of Trader68 from scratch (i.e. not moving your existing database) then have you set Trader68 to automatically start autotrading in the Settings > General Settings dialog?

Also thanks for the database. I have sent it over to the lead developer to investigate and as soon as I hear something back from him I will follow up via email.

Thanks,
Trader68 Support
