Important Warning about Hypothetical Results

On this page, and others within this Web site, you are going to read about trading systems and their performance. It's important that you understand that all results reported on these pages must be treated as hypothetical results.

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. In fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program.

One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program, which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.

Warning about commission costs

Collective2 does not, by default, include commissions and execution costs when displaying hypothetical results. These costs will certainly make your actual trading results worse than the results you see here. For high-frequency trading systems, your results will be vastly worse than the results you see here.

Do you understand that this warning applies to every page of this site?

We show this warning, and block your view of a trading system's hypothetical results screen, at least once each "session" that you come to this Web site. (Specifically, we show this warning the first time you view a system page and then every 60 minutes thereafter.)

Also, this same warning is displayed at the bottom of almost every page in this Web site. So you can always scroll to the bottom of the page to see the warning again. Therefore, we will not block your view of data during each page load, or we would make this site unusable. Before you can continue, you must acknowledge that: 1) you have read this warning, and 2) you accept that - while this pop-up warning will not block your view during every page load - the warning here nevertheless applies to every page on this Web site.

System has changed a few times due to subscriber feedback, and went into idle. Sticking to the system's strategy, one would have missed the past few bullish months, resulting in the broadening the equity curve. Be aware of the chance of loss, it will knock you out of the game, if you don't back your account adequately.

Appears to be abandoned - no trades in over 2 months. Shame as it was a good system based upon Fib/EW analysis. Vendor should shut it down if it's abandoned

Oct 14, 2009 from AutoTrader

Just a couple of weeks ago, most trades would immediately be followed by ever-changing stops, several per trade many times. However, over the past week, the developer seems to have chucked stops out the window. After spending several weeks scalping $20 profits on exceptionally close stops, the past 2 trades have been horrific losers, accounting for a 5-figure loss if you trade the recommended lots. I exited the most recent position with a loss that hurt, but not as much as those still holding on. Turned off Autotrade, will review for the next month of paid subscription to see if the developer is able to get back to winning ways.

The system is experiencing a trading method change. both profit target and stop loss has widened dramatically. I paused my autotrade for now, and watch for several trades and see. one side note is that past performance may not be a good reference due to the method change.

The trader gives the impression that he is clinging to big losses. Every once in a while a trade is made and no stop is set - or the stop is even removed - without further stops and then we have a big loss.. then a number of small trades are made winning, then again a loss. It seems the provider is sometimes simply not accepting that some trades do not work out as planned. Moreover, it seems the system was strongly changed since it is FOR profit - so watch out. It was for free until it hit 1 Mio then it was rescaled by 1:10 and since then it has not generated any profit any more!! it goes up and down below the break-even.. So, since then only fees, no return.. The provider actually fine wrt. communication. Though there are some who are communicating more - and more regularly.

Trading 1 contract since June 09. Ignoring July hit, since Aug. 1 churn has made performance disappointing. 52 trades with unavoidable cost of clearing $1.16/side and C2 system fee of $1.99 and $89/month subscription has generated over $460 in fees vs $820 in profit (trading 1 contract). Burning cash waiting for slump to end.

Aug 29, 2009 from Subscriber

This guy really knows how to read the S&P charts and time the waves. His past drawdowns are a little scary, so I trade with less leverage than on C2. I rode out the July drawdown figuring that he would get back on course, which it seems he has. My only reason for not giving 5-stars is that it seemed like he rode out a couple of big losing trades in July instead of cutting his losses short.

Rebuttal, posted on Aug 29, 2009 by system developer:

Fair. Due to popular demand I now place stop orders immediately upon placing a trade.

System Description

EWP Plus on C2 provides live trade alerts and/or auto-trade capability for ES e-minis

Twitter commentary and analysis is available at @marketdetective

This is a combination of a discretionary and a nondiscretionary system. The nondiscretionary component is entries and exits based on Fibonacci ratios measured from either the beginning or end of Elliott wave counts. The discretionary component is identifying the beginning and end of wave counts.
