Collective2 rates every trading system creator in its database and assigns a score between 100 and 1000.
In general, a rating above 500 is good. A rating above 700 is excellent.
Collective2 Ratings are recalculated daily based on the entire performance history in our database. The exact formula we use is proprietary, but there are several key variables that go into the Collective2 Rating.
One of the most important factors is the length of time we have been able to observe the performance of the trader.
Another key factor is the amount by which the trader over-performs or under-performs the S&P 500 index.
Finally, the choppiness of the trader's results is taken into account. Certainly a more consistent system creator will be rated more highly than a system creator with erratic results.
The system is technical in merit while trading decisions are made using two primary tools: 1) Price action (the level of the pair price along with its volatility and movement) and 2) Quantitative Trading Models (mathematical analysis to identify trading opportunities in unison with algorithmic money management models). These two combined allow for very attractive portfolio returns while reducing overall risk to invested capital.
The overall trading approach is associated with Short-Term "Swing" trading in combination with Trend-Following. Open trades can last from 30 minutes to a few days as currencies are both bought-long and sold-short. The average total number of trades per week can vary between 1-3. Once a trade limit-order has been triggered, a TP- (Take Profit) and SL- (Stop-Loss) price is set. At various price-levels between the entry-price and the TP, per-defined percentages of the overall trade exposure are closed so as to lock-in profits. The SL-level can fluctuate at particular times of day but will never be more than a defined "maximum" amount.
Currently, the main system is focused on the currency pair GBP/USD (British Pound vs. U.S. Dollar). As this is one of the top four "major" pairs traded with regards to daily transactional turnover, it provides for extremely high liquidity along with low transactional spreads (costs) which make it more attractive to trade. The pair also has a long trade history which has shown very consistent backtesting results with historical price-action characteristics.

This is a pay-for-performance system. Subscriptions cost $139 at the end of each
month, but only if the system has made profitable recommendations for the period.
To determine profitability, we do not look at your brokerage account, nor do
we take into consideration whether you actually placed the trades recommended here. We simply measure the system's hypothetical track
record here on the Collective2 Web site, without factoring fees or commissions. You will not be charged unless the sum of the trades during the period was profitable. (Also, we want to reassure you that a "month" means a full 30-day period. That is, you are billed only if
the last 30 days' worth of trade recommendations were profitable. So it's safe to subscribe at the end
of a calendar month; you'll still get 30 days' worth of trades.)
