| | Dear Support team,
first of all, thanks for the good product.
I am wondering about hand's off trading with Trader 68 (and Interactivebrokers).
There is an automatic timeout with interactivebrokers, which it seems is not possible to disable.
I see that trader68 automatically starts IB again, when it terminated, but it is not able to login. So, it just starts more IB clients to no avail.
Is there a way to disable the autologout in IB? - Or a way to enable trader68 to automatically log in (despite the required security cards by IB?)
Thank you very much
Klaus

Hi Klaus,
I asked IB to remove in my account the requirement of a security card. They considered autotrading as a sufficient reason to do so. As ususally, I had to waive all my rights on everything.
Auto log in is possible in theory. I wrote an Excel program that does this every night on my PC. However, I was only able to do this by programming the mouse cursor to move to the right coordinates on the screen. The exact coordinates will probably depend on the kind of screen you have, so presume that the people of Trader68 will have a very though job if they try to do the same for any arbitrary screen that someone might use. |

Hi Jules,
I actually found a tool on the web (IBController).
It required some tweaking, but this avoids the auto-logout
without any screen-specific stuff (it is Java and hooks itself into the Java of the TWS)

Dear Klaus,
I want to take the "Hand-Off" approach for the autotrading too.
I'm wondering if you have been successful in solving the IB auto-logoff
issue. If you did, please provide more detailed info so I can follow your method to realize the overnight C2-T68-IB(TWS) connection.
Thank you so much for your valuable help!
Yin

Dear Yin,
there are two possibilities.
Either you do it like the previous poster: remove the security card requirment (or if you do not have this, just the better).
Then Trader68 does what is required.
Otherwise go and get IBController - just type in google.
This is a bit more of a hazzle to set up. Moreover, if the system actually crashes, you still not to type in the security code by hand. It removes the requirement for the restart.- but no more.
Klaus

Dear Klaus,
Thank you for your info. I'll try the"IBControlle" you mentioned.
Now there is another thing, hopefully it does not bother you too much.
I want follow your steps to set up the connection C2->T68->IB (paper trade account), to try the entire loop until it works then to use the "live account" with IB. Could you please outline the basic steps to hook up with IB paper trade account (I have one, just an username, account# but no password). Somehow I cannot get T68 connect to my IB paper trade account, please give me your adcise.
Thank you again for your help!

Dear Yin,
hm, I do not know. THis was rather easy for me.
Did you activate the API?
=> IB Configuration of API
- check the status and check the port number
- also enter the IP-Adress 127.0.0.1
