Marvelous

Can you give some specifics:

1) pricing - your website is completely obscure. I see things like $500 a month, for huge numbers of trades. TradeBullet and Strategy Manager are around $50 a month

2) are you server based or need I run your software on my desk all day (this is already a major problem for us who want to autotrade)

3) can you tell us how you handle some of the issues that bug us about things like fill management (as posted on the Auto trade forums)

4) Are you going to monitor this thread to support users when they encounter problems, like the TradeBullet guy does?

Hi

1) Different brokers have different pricing schedules through TradeBolt. Gain Capital, for instance, is completely free of charge.

2) You are in complete control. TradeBolt runs on your hardware. This gives you complete privacy and security, as your proprietary code is not broadcast to a general server. If you prefer a broker-assisted scenario, where everything is monitored, please call us at 1-800-977-2658.

3) What would you like to know?

4) Absolutely. We also have live telephone support at 1-800-977-2658 during normal business hours on the east coast.

1) Since you list so few brokers on your site, this doesnt really help much...

2) Actually, the server based is what everyone here has been hoping for (like Strategy Runner), because it is considered far more reliable. If you spend a bit of time on the autotrading forum (past threads) that will become quite apparent.

"You are in complete control" is actually considered here as "you cannot leave your system, because if your internet connex breaks or your PC goes down or if Windows hiccups or your broker or autotrader software crashes, or if the advisor -> Collective2 -> TradeBolt -> broker connection somehow fails or if a limit order just touches a point and then retreats you will be out of sync the whole day... Yadayada... get the idea???

3) try reading this thread to get the idea

http://www.collective2.com/cgi-perl/board.mpl?want=listmsgs&boardid=21517549&threadhilite=2428&displ ayblock=&sorttype=&

Simple answers won't really help. Hard-nosed approaches and a willingness to improve the product and make it work for Collective2 people will help. As I said before, read through some of the general Autotrade forum posts to learn our problems. We cannot translate the past 2 years experience to teach you - you need to be willing to learn the issues on your own, to be taken seriously. In the process, you will make TradeBolt better for ALL your customers in all domains.

I count nearly 70 brokers on our site, and they all have different pricing plans. On some pricing plans, TradeBolt is free. We are in fact announcing a new pricing plan right now on this very forum.

If you sign up for the Pay As You Go plan with IB, we will not charge you AT ALL if you trade under $50 a month (aggregate across all instruments). If your trades go over $50 (starting at $50.01), we will charge the full amount (if you trade $50.01, we will charge you $50.01). However, if you're trading under $50 a month, TradeBolt is absolutely free through Interactive Brokers.

As for server hosting, there are plenty of ways in which we can work with you to make this available. We do have plenty of clients who run TradeBolt on servers in one way or another. Server side technology is not secure enough for the professional developers and market managers who have used TradeBolt for the last four years. They require control over their systems, and that’s what our technology provides.

In general, TradeBolt takes signals from C2 and sends them on to your broker in accordance with the protocols established by C2’s technology. Sign up for a demo with one of our many brokers and try TradeBolt out for free to see for yourself.

We are absolutely committed to making TradeBolt the best product in the business, and we are committed to our relationship with Collective2. I think you will find us responsive and agile in our responses. Notably, we publish our phone number here and other places online (1-800-977-2658). Feel free to call us if you have an immediate need and we will see to it that your need is met immediately.

This sounds like an arrangement identical to TradeBullet as far as the way orders are handled from C2 and executed at the broker (via their API). So we have a twin competitor to Tradebullet with the same initials (TB), which might cause some confusion initially.

What do you mean by "trading $50 a month"? That doesn't buy dinner anymore and barely one share of a decent stock. Can you explain what this means?

I am kind of private, so I personally prefer not to discuss who I use as brokers or other certain trading aspects.

Is there an email address that will reach someone who happens to be familiar with your Collective2 forum discussions here?

I mean $50 a month of TradeBolt charges, not $50 worth of securities. See this page: http://www.tradebolt.com/pricing_ib.html or call for information. 1-800-977-2658

OK ... got it. So, for example, if I'm trading an ES system your Plan B allows up to 100 contracts/month for $50/month, with additional charges of $0.75/contract. For a system that trades 30 ES contracts/day (typical daytrading system on C2), and 20 trading days/month, the monthly charge would be $100 + 500 * $0.75 = $425. Correct? Pretty steep compared to TradeBullet (by about 10x), although for slower systems you may be competitive.

true.

TradeBolt will not be particularly competitive if they offer the same service as TradeBullet and Strategy Manager, but cost considerably more. Not looking for the same at a much higher cost. Already got 2 choices, and one of them has been battle-hardened by a lot of C2 comments...

I was somewhat optimistic given their rep, but not really worth much extra, especially given StrategyRunner will be here soon, and they are server based (which many have been clamouring for)

For that level of volume, you'd want to go with Plan D, rather than Plan B.
