| | In response to post by Myth Buster of 10/07/10 (18:22) Backtest?
Myth - I always wondered if, and when, you'd look my way...
Since KJ Price Action is discretionary, there is no backtest. Some people are scared of this, rightfully so.
Here is what I can tell you:
1. I trade this with my own money. I expect this method to perform better than all my other C2 and non-C2 systems. My worst C2 system lost only 6.7% of initial equity, so the success bar is pretty high.
2. Discretionary trading requires a solid plan, with defined entries, exits. This system has all that.
3. Discretionary trading requires solid money management. Maximum risk is $250 per trade (1-2 contracts). If a trade requires that I risk more, I don't take it.
4. Good discretionary traders practice their craft. Every day I go bar by bar through a week's worth of trading, from various years of mini S&P history. So in addition to real time record on C2, I am continually improving by practice trading each day.
5. I trade full time.
Thanks
Kevin

This is too silly. Kevin is trying to convince us that he is not Myth Buster by having a discussion with himself here. If Myth Buster was real he would have commented on your system. He would have pointed out that the trading costs which include commissions, autotrade fees, monthly subscriber fees and spillage EAT ALL OF THE TINY PROFITS. A simple look at the average P/L per unit traded is about $15. This system is worse than the ones that Myth (Kevin Davey) Buster has trashed. |

Thanks for your comments, Ian.
Yes, you are right, the per unit average right now is low, based on the first 40+ trades.
One big problem I was having in the first few weeks was being quick enough entering the orders in my real money Tradestation account order bar, and then entering them on C2's platform. Lame excuse, but it is the truth.
In the past 2-3 weeks I have been able to work out a better process for entering orders, and I've been able to enter all the trades in both places. So, performance in that time has improved, and I think is more reflective of what this system will do going forward.
