How to Use Instant Trade Messenger (ITM)

Customers who choose not to AutoTrade their systems still need to receive trading signals in a timely way. By default, all trading signals wil be sent to your email box automatically.

Many subscribers, however, find email slow and unreliable. That is not the fault of Collective2 -- C2 sends the signals on their way as soon as they are posted by the trading system. Rather, the problem is caused because some ISPs delay email before delivering it to your Inbox (this often occurs if you have an email address that ends in yahoo.com or hotmail.com).

But do not worry. Collective2 offers a free service called Instant Trade Messenger (ITM). Basically, the ITM is a small window you can leave open on your computer. New trading signals (and alerts) are beamed instantly into your ITM window. In addition, a loud bell sounds to alert you about the new trade signals. This means you don't have sit and stare at the window while waiting for signals. You can do other important work (or play Tetris), and wait for a bell to announce a new signal.

How do I use Instant Trade Messenger (ITM)?

There are a few ways to open the ITM window. When you subscribe to a trading system, a link appears at the top of the trading system's page. (Be sure you log in to Collective2 using your password, so that C2 knows you are a subscriber to a trading system. Otherwise, the link won't appear.)

What does the ITM window look like?

The ITM window is small and unobtrusive. You may "minimize" it while you are working (it will still sound an alarm, even if minimized). Here is an example of an ITM window.

How do I turn off the loud bell sound?

Simply click the "OK" or "Hide" next to any trading signal that appears in the window. This will tell C2 that you have seen the signal, and that there is no need to sound the alarm any more. The alarm will stop until a new signal arrives.

How much does ITM cost?

Zero, baby. Zero. It's all part of Collective2's cool service.

Do I have to download any software?

Nope.

I am a trading system developer. How do I make my signals appear in the ITM window?

You don't have to do anything special. Just enter your signals into C2 however you normally do so (Web interface, TradeStation interface, MetaTrader interface, API interface, etc.) Your signals will get beamed into ITM windows automatically.

I am a trading system developer. I noticed an area in the ITM window called "Latest Broadcasts from system developers." How do I enter new messages in that area?

Use the "Broadcast" link on your trading system page. This will both send emails to all subscribers, and also beam your message into all ITM windows.
